‘Royer’s Stems Hunger’ returns June 23-July 3 to benefit food banks
Royer’s Stems Hunger, which last year collected enough food to provide more than 1,000 meals, will return June 23-July 3.
Royer’s Flowers & Gifts will collect canned food at each of its stores to benefit the Central Pennsylvania Food Bank and the Greater Berks Food Bank.
Customers are asked to bring canned foods to any Royer’s or Stephenson’s Flowers & Gifts and place them in a collection barrel. For each can, they will receive a free carnation, up to a maximum of six carnations per family per visit.
Last year’s inaugural Royer’s Stems Hunger collected 1,363 pounds of food.
Lebanon-based Royer’s (www.royers.com) operates 16 Royer’s stores in Berks, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Lebanon and York counties. Sister company Stephenson’s Flowers & Gifts has one Harrisburg store.
