Introduction: Godetia's scientific name is in honor of Captain William Clark (1770-1838) of the Lewis and Clark expedition. A relative of evening primrose and fuchsia, this vivid beauty, also known as the Rocky Mountain garland flower, must have stopped the trekking Clark in his tracks. We can imagine hot lavender crepe paper petals and fuchsia center rising up from the sandy soil, momentarily captivating the intrepid explorer. In arrangements, it lasts up to 14 days.
